Yout brand is either Just Another Option or The Obvious Choice
To potential customers, your business is one of two things:
Just Another Option or The Obvious Choice.
From what I've seen, every Obvious Choice brand is built on 3.5 things:
1. Clarity
2. A unique narrative
3. Core messaging
3.5. Unique point of view content
Clarity is built on:
- Understanding the customer context. What triggered them to check you out?
- Understanding why what you're offering is critical at this point in time
- Understanding the customer's enemy
Unique Narratives are built on:
- Understanding the customer's Status Quo Narrative
- Letting the customer know what happens if they do nothing
- Giving the customer a peek at the Promised Land
- Hitting the real benefits, not surface-layer or table stakes benefits
Core Messaging is built on:
- What do others in your industry do that you personally find unacceptable?
- How do you deliver your solution (not what you deliver)
- Are others saying the same thing?
Unique point of view content is kinda exactly what it sounds like.
